Minority Report shot-by-shot analysis



This is a medium shot(MS) of the police offers once they have spotted ,John Anderson(Tom Cruise),the suspect.The producers of this film,minority report, have chosen this shot type to portray that the officers are well armed and dangerous as with this shot type,the viewers are able to see the helmets,body armour and  it looks like they are holding a gun. The viewers are also able to see the facial expressions of the officers with this shot(which are Surprised and relieved) once they have spotted the suspect.This builds up the suspense in this part of the movie and makes it more engaging for the viewer as they are excited to see what will happen next.

This is a wide shot (WS) of the where the main protagonist has found an alley way to get into.This is leading into a chase scene.It is vital to have a wide shot so the viewers are able to see any obstacles ,any details of the atmosphere and the police officers behind him to create an intense action scene where the viewers are engaged.

This is a close up.The close up is a shot that keeps only the face full in the frame. In this close up the whole face of the main protagonist is shown.This means that the viewers are able to see the facial expressions of him.The facial expressions of this characters illustrates that he is very tired and his body movement shows he is about to run from the police and try to escape.The background being shown in this image is vital as viewers can see clearly that he is cornered.With the aspect of his body movement posited to look like he is about to escape contracts an tense chase scene.
